My life in the Cosmos

My life in the cosmos – my connection with the universe

    I am the universe.

I do not say this with arrogance; instead, I say this because I am a part of it – part of a greater entity that is beyond me, but a part nevertheless. This realization has allowed me to find myself in closer proximity with the universe and nature.

There is a binding rhythm of the universe that everything is centered upon. This tone synchronizes the beings with the universe. This rhythm is what binds the earthworm that struggles to get off the main path and I. It is this universality that connects me to other beings who have found their home in this universe – and this feeling of connection is one of the most beautiful ever.

I remember one day going on a hike and spending time sitting on a tree, the branches carefully cradling me so I do not fall and then on top of a huge rock that revitalized me with its energy. These were the places I felt the most connected and a part of the universe. It is easy to ignore the vastness and grandness of this universe and be focused into our own universe of problems, solutions and life in general. We, so often, are zoomed into and centered upon our own existence that the thought to look beyond ourselves just does not cross our minds. Only is it when we step back or just halt for a moment and zoom out of our own puny existence on a huge earth itself and then in an even grander universe and space do we realize the true essence of our existence. Only when we zoom out can we truly understand, wonder, and see the bigger the picture painted around us. We are a speck that often marvels in its arrogance of centering the world and the universe around itself – trying to take more and more and more and more. We are the speck that often likes to forget where it stands – as a part of the universe not apart from it. We are the speck that finds it easier to see the disconnections and wonder why do flies exist when they are just an annoyance to us. However, irrespective, we are more than that.

The universe has created us with a consciousness that has all the power to reach out to the deepest darkest parts of the universe. It has gifted us with it and given us the capacity to take in the grandness of our existence and our synchronicity and further reach out our thinking to as many universes and as far as we allow ourselves to reach. Even though we cannot physically touch these multiverses or the depths of our own universe, our consciousness is the power through which we can. Therefore, in all of that and all the wonder and depth it can fill us with – consciousness is itself a super power we could say we have. The question then becomes how much of it do we use and how big are the walls we are limiting it with?

Situate yourself where you can feel the energy the life of your surroundings, close your eyes and breathe in this energy, feel this energy of the universe throbbing into you. Feel your body and being synchronize itself with the rhythm of the universe. Feel it be in one with its creator and let your being expand. See, feel the expanse that lies beyond your own existence.  This is something I wrote, during my hiking adventure cradled in a tree branch:

I feel a connection, belongingness
Like the tree was the soul to my mate
It holds me, keeping me from fall,
 as I write gibberish
On this paper - who is maybe his distant relative.
And now,   I can see,
I. Can. Truly. See.
I see the smallest of shadows following his master, the sparrow
I can hear THE nature
Harmonizing with the rhythm of
The universe
And me,
I,
Become a part of this melody
Never before, have I felt this deep connection
This oneness with any ‘wildlife.’
Irrespective, the tree, mama tree holds me
A reckless soul, sans fear that  I am
The tree still holds me, embraces me
Let’s me connect
And
Disconnect
It lets me take a break and just wonder…
Be mesmerized…. By its beauty
Its GRANDNESS
Its connectedness.
And I hope now that I can be like this tree
I want to be this tree
SO grand, so beautiful, caring and kind
Connected
Free but grounded
Yes, I want to be this tree
Showing another reckless soul
The melodies I sing
The melodies of the universe
And the connections that changed me.

The further you try to walk away from this synchronicity, the more you are going against the rhythm that just creates a chaotic disconnect that creates more trouble than good. Having been facing depression I can testify to that. Losing the greater synchronicity with your own being and the universe creates further imbalances in your state of being. All the connections you found beautiful, now, just seem to exist. The magic and wonder seems arbitrary and somewhere between all the hustle and bustle of the mundane… you lose yourself and your deeper sense of connection.  At that point, it is almost as if you have lost it all.

However, not all is lost forever. As long as you can, within yourself and through other life forces, find a way to foster your inner strength and make yourself vulnerable you can open yourself to the beauty of the universe. As long as you can hold onto that last speck of hope and the magic that hope carries, you can foster deep connections and marvel at the grandness of the multiverses.  It isn’t a herculean task, but you can make it to be so. All you need is to take a step back or just pause and breathe and situate yourself amidst all the energy of the natural environment around you. Breathe in the power, breathe in the depth, and breathe in the love as you respire with the hum of the universe. You are a part of this universe.

The closer we stay to this synchronicity with the rhythm of the universe, the more we embrace the universe we sustain ourselves, and the greater connection we foster with the same. Then, our existence however small it may be becomes grander in all of its essence as it throbs along the beautiful synchronizing rhythm of a more apparent chaotic universe in all of its intricacies – the cosmic. Our humility accepting our being as a part of a greater existence is what will eventually, and always, lift us up. It is not going to be a fancy invention in the future. Instead, it is the fancy existence of the consciousness, our conscious, which will and does truly lift us up, as we embrace our inherent and apparent universality. After all, you are a part of this universe, not apart from it.

You ARE the universe.
